DESCRIPTION:It’s time to kickoff our MVGC 2026 tournament season\, Saturday March 7\, with The Players Championship! \nFormat: “Chapman Scotch” – 2 person teams – open to men and women. Both players drive\, play each others tee shot for their second shot\, then pick the best result and play alternate shot until the ball is holed. Pick your own partner\, or sign up as a single and we will pair you with a partner. Players handicaps must be within 10 shots. If more\, the higher handicap will be adjusted down to comply. This is a 9 hole event – teams will receive half of the combined 9 hole handicaps. Hole #8 has water hazard\, DSH creek… \nEntry Fee: $30 – plus appropriate green fee. 100% of entry fees will be awarded as prize money! The top 3 teams in the field will cash\, to be divided between gross and net scores. Additional prizes for 3 closest to the pins and long drive. \nFood & Bev: All tournament players will receive a 25% discount for the entire day from our awesome new food truck\, Porch 1919. Breakfast and lunch items\, beer and cocktails\, as much or as little as you prefer to add to this full day of friendship\, fun\, and stories. \nEligibility: Open to all members of the Mill Valley Golf Club. Not a member? Our top 2 teams advance to the NCGA qualifying round that takes place at a number of different golf courses. MVGC pays for your qualifier tournament. \nFormat: Four-Ball net stroke play.18 holes qualifying. 48 teams will advance to the championship. The championship proper will be 36 holes stroke play (18 holes per day). Play will be 85% (men and women) of the Course Handicap using a maximum Handicap Index of 18.4 for calculation. The event is hosted by the NCGA\, with officials on the course\, electronic leaderboard\, free lunch\, and a stipend for lodging from your MVGC. DESCRIPTION:The Inaugural Member – Member\, Saturday May 16\nJust simply an epic day on the calendar: fun format with our course coming out of Spring looking awesome. Here’s the details: a 2 player team event\, with prizes for both gross and net. This year is a nine hole competition\, holes 1-3 scoring is better – ball\, 4-6 is a straight up alternate shot\, bring it home on holes 7-9 playing scramble. Post your score\, have a beverage and see if you’re crowned the first winners of our Member/ Member. Handicapping will be half of the team total\, with partners handicaps within 10 of each other\, if it’s more the higher player will reduce to that 10 differential. Your entry of $40 gets you into the fray\, with all monies into the pot. Will pay a third of the field\, also includes closest to the pin on all par AND a 25% discount all day at The Porch…breakfast sando\, couple of travelers\, maybe a smile for Niall…stories and memories at no extra charge! \nEntries open Friday April 24 with a hard close end of day Tuesday May 12. Grab a partner and LFG! \nQuick reminder also to sign up the NCGA zone qualifying on Friday May 8.
